In 1913, the National Association of Realtors, like the professions of law, medicine and technology, has adopted an ethical code that still governs the actions of its members. Few consumers realize that reality, however, or their estate may be subject to disciplinary measures and sanctions to deviate from this code. Ask the broker a copy of the NAR ethics, or go online and research the perfect document of their own.

You can easily find a copy through  NAR. Reference is made to Article 17 and the Rules Practice. A detail of the document clearly outlines the responsibilities of their real estate clients and provides the assurance that it is a professional who brings the best interests first. Throughout the NAR Code of Ethics, the language of the document insists on the honesty with all parties and entities that play a role in the transaction. This extends to matters of principles like truth, objective comments about other real estate professionals. Many professions suffer from stereotypes – the corrupt lawyer, fast-talking salesmen used cars. Realtors have often been portrayed as women who need something to do during their free time.
